  • Machine not used for 18 months
  • Swapped out:
    • MX500 1TB SSD for Kingston SSDNow 960GB SUV400S3
    • Kingston was left over from that used GTX 1080 machine
    • Kingston is very budget and not good as system drive so is fine for game/data drive in this box and will fre up MX500 for use elsewhere

Powered up after sitting for a month, GTX 1070 Ti fan is on full blast

  • Not on when in BIOS
  • Uninstalled NVidia drivers, fan goes off
  • Installed NVidia drivers back to on full blast
  • System restore back to 20181004, still same
  • Factory reset using supplied DVD, still same
  • Pulled shroud off GTX 1070 Ti
    • 4 pin fan connector is loose, all good now, started reinstalling everything

  • Chrome installed & to default
  • Steam installed to 1TB SSD & commenced selected games install
  • Install Steam VR
